Our story is not something extraordinary, we are just ordinary Overseas Filipino Workers who like many others, spent long hours in the office than at home most of the time. On weekends, we make sure to make up the lost time with our kids. To save money, instead of dining out, we prefer to just cook and set the table as if we are in a restaurant and we happily dine together.  This however was when our children were just little kids. As time goes by, they have grown up and maybe, had enough of the taste of those weekend dishes and as we too have grown older, stress and heavy workload have taken toll on our body that on weekends, we prefer to rest than do the things we used to do when we were younger. Attuning to the changes, we found ourselves dining in restaurants on some lucky paydays when we have extra. Many times on these occasions, our children have to do rock, paper and scissors on whose gonna decide to go where because they cannot agree which restaurant to dine due to their food preference, one likes Pizza or Burger while the other wants a regular meal which are usually not offered under the same roof.  This often leads to one being happy and the other cranky or worst, we all have to turn back and eat at home. 
 
As uncertainties working abroad is always a reality, sooner or later we knew we  will be coming home for good so we need to have a livelihood that can support our needs when that day comes and our parenting experience somehow leads us to conceive the idea of putting up a small restaurant that offers a variety of choices so one need not hop from one shop to another to find what they need thus, Happilen came to exist.
